Family: Maternity Package in Cebu Doctor's University Hospital


If you are planning to avail the Maternity Package in Cebu Doctor's University Hospital here is a quick guideline. 

GUIDELINES FOR PRIVILEGED MOTHER'S SERVICES (PMS)
  • A. GENERAL GUIDELINES
    1. Pregnancy up to 30 weeks 6/7 days is accepted to the service.
    2. Upon enrollment, the enrollee should present s photocopy of valid ID. In addition, enrollee's husband/partner is also required to submit a photocopy of valid ID. I don't have my government ID yet when I availed the package but they accept my company ID. Just let them know that you still have to get them.
      • Certificate of employment should be submitted for enrollees with spouses working abroad.
    3. Schedule of prenatal care visits must be strictly followed:
      • Succeeding visits schedule shall be determined by the attending resident physician. They are very strict with late comers so make sure to arrive on time or if you have a conflict of schedule make sure to call them or inform them ahead of time.
    4. Patients are required to attend the PMS orientation within the first two weeks after the first prenatal check-up. 
      • PMS orientation schedule is every:
        • 8:00 AM only - Wednesday
        • 8:30 AM only - Saturday
        • Please come on time, late comers will not be accommodated.
      • One immediate family with photocopy of a valid ID is required to attend during their orientation.
      • For unmarried enrollees below 21 yrs. Old either of the father, mother, older brother or sister with a photocopy of valid ID is required to attend during their orientation.
      • Failure to attend the PMS orientation would automatically disqualify the enrollee from the PMS.
    5. Prenatal care check-ups & deliveries shall be handled by the PGIs & Resident Physicians.
    6. Donation of one (1) unit of blood is required before the patient's discharge from the hospital. If ever you completed the (1) unit of Blood Donation they will give you a Certificate of Blood Donation. Keep it, blood donation certificate is needed upon discharge from the hospital. Blood Bandk won't release a new certificate if you lose it.
      • Failure to donate blood upon discharge shall cause the enrollee to be considered as House Case under a private physician & be billed as such. Prenatal advance deposit (PAD) & PMS benefits shall be forfeited.
    7. Patients who stay beyond the prescribed 3 days for normal delivery & 5 days for caesarean section would be charged for the excess room accommodation.
    8. Enrolled privileged mothers who delivered outside CDUH shall forfeit all fees paid up during their prenatal care visits.
    9. Enrollees shall be disqualified for PMS admission in the event of the following reasons:
      • No certificate of blood donation upon discharge from the hospital.
      • Non-compliance to scheduled prenatal care visits and/or not following physician’s order is subject for review by the chief resident for deliberation.
    10. During admission patient shall pay for medicines, supplies and other consumables used before, during and after delivery.
    11. Room accommodation shall be in the OB ward located at the 4th floor of the hospital. Non-airconditioned room with curtain partitions.
    12. Only one (1) watcher is allowed to accompany the patient throughout the hospital stay.
    13. PHIC members may qualify under this program; Health Insurance beneficiaries are excluded from this program.  Sad to say, even company health insurance is also excluded from this program.
    14. Patients discharged against medical advice shall not be accepted again under PMS.

  • B. FEES
    1. A Prenatal Advance Deposit (PAD) is collected during each Prenatal care visit.
      a. Normal DeliveryPhp 500.00 per visit
      b. Caesarean SectionPhp 1,000.00 per visit
      c. Laboratory FeesPhp 1,500.00 first visit only
      Note: The accumulated PAD collected during the prenatal visits will serve as part of the deposit required for the hospital admission with the presentation of the PAD payment receipt.
    2. Hospital Fees
      a. Normal Delivery Procedure FeePhp 5,795.00
      b. Elective/Scheduled Caesarean Section Procedure FeePhp 11, 580.00
      c. Emergency/Stat Caesarean Section Procedure FeePhp 15,630.00
      d. Premature Labor (33 weeks or less)Php 30,000.00 Advance Deposit for neonatal care expenses.
      Note: THE ABOVE FEES DO ONT INCLUDE LABOR ROMM FEES, MEDICINES, IV FLUIDS, SUTURES, BLOOD, ANESTHESIA, MACHINE USE AND OTHER SUPPLIES, EQUIPMENT USED INSIDE THE DELIVERY ROOM/ OPERATING ROOM FOR NORMAL DELIVERY/CAESAREAN SECTION.

  • D. WHAT TO DO WHEN IN LABOR
    • Watch out for signs of labor:
      • Strong, frequent regular cramps on abdomen and lower back
      • Passage of blood tinged vaginal discharge
      • Passage of watery vaginal discharge
    • As soon as labor begins, take a quick shower and come to CDUH immediately.
    • Bring toilet articles, baby’s layette, medicines, prescription given at OPD, OB white card and certificate of blood donation.

  • E. WHAT TO EXPECT
    1. DURING DELIVERY
      • The patient stays in the labor room until she is ready to deliver.
      • Unauthorized persons are not allowed inside the Labor/ Delivery Room Complex.
    2. AFTER DELIVERY
      • After delivery, the patient shall be observed for at least two hours in the delivery recovery room for early detection of bleeding, etc.
      • The baby shall be roomed-in two hours after delivery
      • The baby should be breastfeed unless the doctor tells not to do so.
      • All PMS babies are mandated by the Department of Health to have the following procedures within twelve hours of birth. Cost must be paid for by the patient.

    3. UPON DISCHARGE
      • The patient has to be examined by the Resident-on-duty before discharge.
      • The patient can ask the resident/nurse on duty for advice regarding the care of episiotomy wound and the baby's umbilical cord.
      • Official Receipts of the Prenatal Advance Deposit (PAD) should be presented to the cashier so that these can be deducted from the hospital bill.
      • Return to OPD for check-up after delivery as instructed by the resident physician

    1. it was stated above in section B. FEES. For Normal Delivery Php 5795.00 or you can just pay Php 500 per visit.

    1. It was stated above in section B. FEES. For Scheduled CS Php 11,580.00 or pay 1k per visit while for Emergency that would be CS Php 15,630.00. But that was way back 2015. You can check more info on their website or call 032 255-5555 for more details.

  4. Does the package applicable to Philhealth as well?
    Also, does the package include screening tests after delivery of the baby?

WHAT ABOUT THE OTHER MEDICINE USE UPON DELIVERY , LIKE THE ( LABOR ROMM FEES, MEDICINES, IV FLUIDS, SUTURES, BLOOD, ANESTHESIA, MACHINE USE AND OTHER SUPPLIES, EQUIPMENT USED INSIDE THE DELIVERY ROOM/ OPERATING ROOM FOR NORMAL DELIVERY/CAESAREAN SECTION.) CAN WE ASK THE EST , ADDITIONAL COST ? FOR THESE ARE ON TOP OF THE PACKAGE , ESP IF WE UNDERGO CS.

    1. That all is included also. Everything will be taken care. Though lesser bill will be given to you if you avail the package. Pero dili ka kabuot kinsa na doctor ang mo atiman nimo kay mag depende sa doctor na naka duty that time.

    1. Naa koy nakadungan last time na wala cla gapackage og naa sila private doctor, pagkahuman jud sa CS operation pagabot pa lang sa tapad na room kay patak na dayon ang 250K to think kato pa lang adlawa.

      Then sa akoa kay nakastay kog 3 days didto kay CS man pud pero package me. Ang bill is around 44K then giminusan sa payment namo sa package og gikuhaan og Philhealth basta nadungag namo is around 10K more or less man guro to.

    1. Usually naa ra sa less than 22K then minusan ra na sa imong nabayad atong imong package. Then kuhaan pa na sa Philhealth. Naa koy kauban sa work before iyang bill naa around 20K then giminusan ra sa philheath og sa package niya then ang nahabilin around 1k mao ra toy iyahang na add.

    1. Yes, pwede ra kaau. But I warn you, grabe kaau kamahal ang dili package. Naa me nakadungan last time pagkahuman palang daan panganak 1st day pa gani kay niabot na og 200K+ ilang gasto kay kadalihok charge. Samot pa jud na naay problema iyang bb then CS pud to cya. If ever man gani normal ra na delivery barato ra siguro. Pero wa koy idea if pila pud if normal na delivery na dili package.

  22. How much for normal delivery if ever I will fail to donate blood sa package? Lisud kaayo mangita ug dugo even 1 bag blood lang always ma fail akong pangdad.on been looking for someone to donate blood since June hangtod ron dili nila dawaton kay kuno di kaayo dako ang ugat etc.. Can you please give estimated amount?? I need answers for this.
